Granbury Opera House

The production of Anne of Green Gables was absolutely fantastic. The acting was splendid and the sets were incredible! You can really tell it was well directed. The only thing I would have changed is the man at the start introducing the play. He asked for a show of hands for who knew the story and then asked for the men in the audience who were familiar to raise their hands separately as though there is something shameful about a man being familiar with one of the most classic and wonderful stories ever put on paper. Then he muttered something that sounded a bit like mocking them before announcing the show and walking off stage. If he's not interested in men showing interest in theater, maybe he should find a different job. No one should be shamed for their enjoyment of life, and as that's the entire point of this story, it was an odd choice. I'm sure he's someone important to the theater, maybe he just had a bad night.

Beautiful venue. Although the chairs are not plus sized friendly. The top, which we were located, was a nice view but if you can get bottom floor seating I definitely recommend you do so as when the actors come out to the audience they only walk around on the floor seats. The building itself had such beautiful workmanship! The chandeliers were magnificent! They also have a elevator as well as a very small concession stand that will be selling wine and beer soon from what the announcer said before our show played. For two small bags of popcorn and some Oreos it's was $9. The performance we went to see was Matilda and what a wonderful cast it was! Wish I would've been able to take a couple of photos with the cast with my little one but we decided to go next door to the little candy shop and try the Matilda chocolate shake, which was only like $6 and absolutely worth it! All in all of you get the chance to come and watch a play put on by these amazing actors I for one think you should definitely by those floor seat tickets and enjoy the show!

Watched Elf, the musical. We loved the show but the only reason we didn't give five stars is because to many very little kids that their parents wouldn't keep them quite or take them out in the lobby. There should be a age limit. No babies. Update: my wife and I have been coming here for years. Besides Elf, everything else has been good. We just went to watch White Christmas, the play. It was very good. I liked the guy that walked real slow with a funny grin. My wife liked the lady in red that stayed behind the desk with a red dress. She was very funny and good at what she does.
